The Longest Mile “Where the mile is longest, the story begins.” Episodes 1 & 2 - Lobos to Lajares The Start of the Trail & Volcanoes We’re walking Fuerteventura from top to toe — the entire GR131 trail. From the tiny island of Lobos and the surf town of Corralejo, through volcanic badlands, dusty ridges and hidden villages, all the way down to the wild and remote coastline of the south. This is Postcards to Dad — our way of bringing Dad along for the adventure when he can’t travel with us. Each episode is a postcard: a few kilometres walked, a few laughs shared, and a little glimpse of one of Spain’s most extraordinary landscapes. It started as a way to keep Dad included, but now it’s grown into something bigger — a journey for hikers, walkers, and armchair travellers everywhere. So join us step by step: through lava fields, wind-blown dunes, goat-dotted hills, and tiny whitewashed towns where the coldest drink is always the best one. We’ll carry you along for every climb, every obstacle, and every “why are we doing this again?” moment — so you can experience Fuerteventura’s GR131 trail without leaving your chair. Episodes 1 & 2 are live now: Isla de Lobos – a wild little island just off the coast, the official start of the GR131. Corralejo & the Volcanoes – across black rock, craters, and the long hot walk to Lajares. It's an unforgettable 170 km journey full of laughter, challenges, aching feet and epic cinematic views to take your breath away with an original soundtrack specially created for the series. The longest mile can be the last, the hardest or the one that changes you... but its the one worth walking because that's where the story is. 🎶 Every step of the GR131 is accompanied by an original soundtrack, crafted for the series with each section, each piece of history, and every landscape in mind. From haunting instrumentals to stirring melodies, the music is designed to bring the island and its stories to life — a postcard to Dad in every note.
