https://markersofpollution-markopolo.eu/ Prof. Andreas Daiber, Head of Laboratory of Molecular Cardiology at UMC-Mainz and scientific coordinator of MARKOPOLO, explains how environmental noise contributes to cardiovascular disease and why it matters for prevention and public health. This masterclass was recorded at the 45th Annual Congress of the Belgian Society of Cardiology (BSC) in January 2026. The session explores the molecular mechanisms linking noise exposure to vascular damage and highlights emerging research directions. The video was kindly provided by the Belgian Society of Cardiology (BSC). Learn more about BSC: https://www.bscardio.be/ MARKOPOLO - Noise and/or ultrafine particulate matter induced cerebral and cardiovascular damage: novel insights from experimental and epidemiological brain-heart axis biomarkers and computational models: MARKOPOLO aims to investigate the impact of traffic noise and air pollution, especially fine and ultrafine particulate matter, on human health through an innovative translational approach. Experimental and computational models are used in clinical, interventional and epidemiological studies. One of the main objectives is to identify disease-relevant biomarkers and to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in diseases of the brain, lung and cardiovascular system. The “from bench-to-bedside” approach uses extensive knowledge of the brain-heart connection and applies modern methods to better understand the causes of disease. 🌐 Visit the MARKOPOLO website: https://markersofpollution-markopolo.eu/ 🤳 Follow MARKOPOLO on social media: LinkedIn:   / markopolo-eu-project   Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/markersofpol...
