I was wrong about chicken games on Commodore 64

I was wrong about chicken games! 🐔 In this video, I take a look at two classic Commodore 64 games, Chuckie Egg (1984) and Chuckie Egg 2 (1985) from A’n’F Software — and despite the name, these aren't games about chickens! I play both games on real vintage Commodore 64 hardware, talk about the gameplay and history of each game, and then dig deeper into the graphics and game art using Action Replay to examine the in-game sprites and Retro Debugger to explore the custom characters, sprites, graphics, and other hidden details inside these classic C64 games. Chuckie Egg was designed and developed by Nigel Alderton, Mike Webb, and Sean Townsend, while Chuckie Egg 2 was created by Sean Townsend. During the making of this video, I also discovered that Freeze64 #86 had just published an article about Sean Townsend and his work on Chuckie Egg — something I didn't know when I started making the video, making this a pretty cool coincidence and an unexpected piece of Commodore 64 history.
