I’m Experimenting With YouTube to See What Actually Works

I’ve been on YouTube for almost a year now, and honestly… I’m still figuring it out. I started my podcast, Slightly Dramatic, because I wanted a space to talk about the things I’m thinking about, questioning and experiencing. But after almost a year of making content, I also want to explore what else is out there for me as a creator. And because life is already consuming enough of my time and energy, I’ve decided to simplify things a little and actually experiment with what works — both for YouTube and, more importantly, for me. So I’m breaking my content down into three formats: 1. QUICK CHATS 2–5 minute videos where I can talk about an idea, opinion, observation or random thought without turning it into a whole production. 2. SLIGHTLY DRAMATIC My long-form podcast format — around 30–40 minutes — where I can properly sit with a topic, tell stories, overthink things and have the conversations I actually want to have. 3. VLOGS Just my life. What I’m doing, where I’m going, what I’m figuring out, and generally what life looks like while I try to make something out of this whole content-creation thing. Because ultimately, I’m just a girl trying to figure out what content creation can do for me — and what I can become better at through creating. So this is also going to be an experiment. I want to see what happens when I try different formats, learn how YouTube works, understand what the algorithm responds to, and figure out what kind of creator I actually want to be. If you’re interested in following that process — including the things that work, the things that absolutely do not work, and everything I learn along the way — stick around. Subscribe, leave me a comment, and let me know what you want to see.
