Hey guys. It's been a while!
How are you guys doing? I hope everyone is well!
I finally decided to tackle AT Jin Dahaad. This run for me was a personal challenge because I hate everything about this fight. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jin Dahaad, but I dislike hunting him, especially the AT versions. This hunt (in my humble opinion) was made to be a ''cinematic'' fight and I truly despise this, because for speedrunning, this fight doesn't depend only on the skill of the hunter but it depends on luck to skip HP and animation locks, otherwise you get stuck having to watch the pole dance sequence or the ult/nova.
Now here are some details about this hunt:
First of all, this build is not optimized! Running Scorcher I or Burst Boost I alongside Gore's Tiranny and Lord's Soul is a better option as it deals more damage.
I decided to use this build because of 1 single factor: Flayer 4!
9★ 3✦ AT Jin topples because of 2 things:
1 - Popping wounds on the legs;
2 - Breaking the legs/hitting damage threshold;
Due to this, Flayer made a really big difference especially in phase 3, because I could cycle between damage threshold and popping wounds to topple Dahaad;
Slugger 2 is the build because the charm allowed for it, but I avoided focusing on the head on phase 4 because I had a hard time blinding him while he was down because of K.O;
This run also depended on another thing, I had to avoid popping a wound and breaking the leg at the same and this happened quite often. The good thing is, since flayer allowed for wounds to opened really fast, this overlap stopped happening.
Phase 3 and 4 are the most critical. Phase 3 was were flayer really shined, allowing me to sequencially topple with leg wound and leg break. I tried my best to lower both forelegs HP in phase 2, but I got stuck on the wrong side and could only damage the right foreleg, but in the end it worked out;
Phase 4 is the one that took me the most time to ''master''. Since I focused on the forelegs in the other phases, I saved the hindlegs for the final phase. The leg that doenst have the tempered scar is easier to open the first wound, so the sequence goes: wound, break, wound again, but to try and gain some time I moved to the oposite leg;
Quick note is that I got lucky in phase 4 because he didn't ult after getting out of the flash in 05:34
In the end of the day, controlling the topples was the key for this run to work, at least for me;
