The 01200 Series railcars, which have been operating on the MBTA’s Orange Line subway since 1979, are retiring after 38 years of service. As you can clearly see, the vehicles are in a state of disrepair, and maintenance is dwindling. This video documents my last ride on these vehicles. This is an unusually special ride for me, as these were the railcars that basically got me to like trains. What you see in the video is my last ride ever. I did not take the subway back into Boston. Due to the enforcement of the Children's Online Privacy & Protection Act (COPPA), all TransitUSA videos are not subject to users under the age of 13. TransitUSA videos pertain to COPPA Title 16 CFR Section 312.2 in that the targeted audience for all videos are the general public. Three years ago, I posted a video of what I thought would be my final ride. Because of delays in production of the new vehicles, the start date has been pushed back numerous times. However, with video proof at Wellington of a fully assembled 6 car train set, it is now only a matter of time. The first cars are expected to roll out sometime in March of 2019. Video filmed on #01293, car 6 of 6.
