Odisha has a large tribal population and numerous programmes have been implemented for their development over the years. Yet, many tribal communities continue to face challenges in education, healthcare, livelihood, connectivity and access to opportunities. Why has development not made the desired difference? Is the problem with policies, implementation, participation or the development model itself? In this episode of Ashok Das GapaSapa, former IAS officer Sanjeev Chandra Hota shares his perspectives on the challenges of tribal development in Odisha and what can be done differently.
