Ontario was pumping oil 56 years before Alberta's Turner Valley discovery. It has a mine deeper than five CN Towers, a city built inside an ancient impact crater, and a swamp near James Bay holding large deposits of nickel and chromite that have been pulled into a trade fight.
In this video we count down ten things Ontario is sitting on, from a lost sea buried beneath Lake Huron, to a reactor on the shore that helps sterilize medical supplies around the world, to the Ring of Fire, where nearly twenty years after the first discovery there is still no operating mine.
Which of these places would you want to see up close? Tell me in the comments.
