Barakas — tiefling mage, fallen hero, circus performer… and a man who refuses to turn his back on humanity.
Under a blond wig and behind a painted smile, Barakas hides his horns — and the scars of a life spent being feared for what he looks like. But tonight, the circus is his stage.
He invites a mysterious blond-haired woman into the ring, dances with her beneath the circus lights, throws sparks into the sky and turns magic into spectacle. He tries to charm the crowd with Thaumaturgy, but magic cannot erase prejudice — and it cannot buy acceptance.
They called him a curse.
They called him a monster.
They cast him out.
But when others needed help, Barakas never walked away.
This is the song of a tiefling who hides his horns, but can never hide his heart.
A hard rock / epic D&D song about Barakas, a tiefling mage performing in a dangerous circus, hiding his true appearance beneath a blond wig while fighting against the hatred that follows him.

Lyrics:
[Intro]
Step right up, the curtains climb
One bright smile for borrowed time
[Verse 1]
Barakas paints a grin in white
Pins a golden wig on tight
Under silk, the secret bends
Two dark points beneath the strands
He walks the ring with velvet flair
Throws red sparks into the air
A fallen name, a borrowed crown
Still he will not put us down
[Pre-Chorus]
He lifts his hands, the whole tent sways
Thaumaturgy sets hearts ablaze
But charm can crack against the truth
And magic cannot purchase proof
[Chorus]
Dance with me, blond-haired stranger
Laugh while I outrun the danger
I was cast out, called a curse
Still I carry this broken world first
Watch the sky split, watch it burn
For every cruel face, I return
Barakas stands where the outcasts are
A horn-hidden hero under circus stars
[Verse 2]
He points toward a vacant chair
Finds a woman with sunlit hair
"Come on, dear, take my hand"
She steps into the painted sand
He sings her name through drums and flame
Spins her once beneath the rain
The crowd applauds, then looks away
When one loose strand betrays the play
[Pre-Chorus]
He lifts his hands, the banners rise
Blue fire blooms across their eyes
But charm can crack against the truth
And magic cannot purchase proof
[Chorus]
Dance with me, blond-haired stranger
Laugh while I outrun the danger
I was cast out, called a curse
Still I carry this broken world first
Watch the sky split, watch it burn
For every cruel face, I return
Barakas stands where the outcasts are
A horn-hidden hero under circus stars
[Bridge]
They said, "Your blood will damn us all"
He caught their children when walls fall
They said, "Your face is proof enough"
He answered every wound with love
No, he never turned away
Not from the hands that made him pay
If mercy needs a fool tonight
He’ll be the fool beneath the lights
[Dance Break]
One step left, one step right
Spin the fear into delight
Raise your voice, release the red
Let the old accusations shred
[Instrumental]
[Final Chorus]
Dance with me, blond-haired stranger
I’m still here inside the danger
I was cast out, called a curse
Still I carry this broken world first
Watch the sky split, watch it burn
Every scar becomes a star
Barakas stands where the outcasts are
No hidden horn can hide his heart
[Outro]
The wig comes loose, the sparks descend
The circus roars, the night won’t end
He bows alone, then faces dawn
Still choosing us, still carrying on
