This is the recording of our Insights Day webinar held on 26 October 2026. This was an opportunity to explore national trends and emerging themes in urinary bypass care, and what they mean for urostomates and those who care for them. Speakers include:
Theresa Bowles –
Theresa spent two decades in the NHS, including 15 years as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in stoma care. She also worked in the medical device industry for a manufacturer specialising in stoma and continence care, giving her a well-rounded perspective on both clinical and commercial aspects of healthcare delivery. In June 2025, Theresa was seconded to NHS England’s Medicines Value and Access team, where she serves as the subject matter expert for stoma care. Her role contributes to a Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) – commissioned review of the end-to-end pathway for stoma products available on prescription. This strategic initiative aims to reshape the category strategy for stoma care, ensuring that clinicians and end users are meaningfully represented in future policy and procurement decisions.
Jennifer Davidson Maltby –
Paediatric Nurse for nearly 14 years, qualified counsellor specialising in supporting others with chronic health conditions, urostomy advocate, wife, mother and friend. I enjoy living life to its fullest in rural Cornwall. I received my urostomy in 2019 due to end stage Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome. Since my diagnosis I have worked hard to educate others about life with my condition and the treatments I have experienced along the way resulting in a urostomy via my Instagram page @jenandscarlettstoma and co-founding ‘IC/PBS to Urostomy UK’ and more recently ‘Urostomy: The Missing Voice’.
Kevin Hodges –
Kevin is Strategic Engagement Manager with the British Healthcare Trades Association. He has over 25 year’s experience working in the Healthcare sector predominantly in Medical Devices across the Stoma and Continence categories. He has worked for one of the leading Stoma Care companies, set up SureCalm Healthcare Dispensing Contractor group in 2010, and is now supporting the BHTA Stoma Manufacturers section & the Dispensing Appliance Contractors sections. He also chair of the Drug Tariff Committee which consists of representatives from the five main Part IX trade associations. Kevin will be speaking on Commissioning Appliance Management Prescribing Services and the Part IX reforms.
Natasha Rolls –
Natasha is a Lead Stoma Nurse Specialist and has built an extensive and distinguished career in stoma care specialist nursing. Following her work in London in 2017, she was appointed as Lead Stoma Care Nurse Specialist in Bristol. She is deeply committed to driving service improvement, enhancing professional recognition for her team, and addressing the stigma faced by individuals living with a stoma. Natasha has played a key role in advocating for the development of national care pathways across the UK and has been instrumental in efforts to secure consistent, high-quality stoma care services nationwide. She is a strong proponent of demonstrating the value of specialist nursing roles as a means to safeguard services and improve both clinical outcomes and patient experience. In her role as Honorary Chair of the Association of Stoma Care Nurses UK (ASCNUK), Natasha continues to advance this work by promoting best practice, supporting professional development, and contributing to the wider body of knowledge through writing and presentations. Natasha will be speaking about the Advancing Stoma Care Service project.
