Load data into a lakehouse before the next item deploys, or run your data quality checks right after it. That is what the new Deployment Plan does, and I have been waiting for this type of feature for a long time. In this video Teemu Multanen and I go through what you need to know about it. We build a plan on the blank canvas, add actions that run before and after each item, set dependencies so items deploy in the right order, and pass parameters with Variable library references. Then we look at the plan as YAML in version control (and why that makes it easy for AI agents to write plans for you), run it in a deployment pipeline from dev to test, follow the actions in the monitoring hub, and use it in the branch out flow for a feature workspace. We also cover one gotcha: if you select only the plan, nothing else deploys. Good to note that at the time of recording, Deployment Plan is in preview, and if an action fails, the deployment stops and nothing is rolled back.
