A register sits on a stand in a crypt at Predappio, and strangers still sign it. The town has 6,000 residents and somewhere between 50,000 and 100,000 visitors a year. Fourteen members of the family lie behind that wall, and one of them was not in a grave at all for eleven years. Told in 16 parts across about 46 minutes, from contemporary photographs, official records and first-hand accounts. Every claim in the narration is sourced; where the record is contested, the film says so rather than choosing the better story.
