WALTER ROBINSON - artist provocateur - (ART/new york No. 70) - Paul Tschinkel's Third Eye

Walter Robinson has been on the New York art scene since the early Seventies. Coming from the Sooner State, he studied art and psychology at Columbia University and thereafter quickly became a fixture in the New York art world. He is an exhibiting painter who is also an art critic, a writer, publisher and who, among others started artnet, an online magazine about art and the art market. His work glorifies and critiques popular culture as he makes paintings that puzzle and delight the art public. Seen are several exhibitions including a retrospective at the Downtown Deitch Gallery that was organized by Barry Blinderman.
