1st Kokanee of 2026 (American Lake)

On 4/04/2026 I went out to American Lake in hopes of catching me some Kokanee. Being it's still early to be fishing for these fish I just cannot help myself. Rostin of Illumi-knotty Tackle LLC has sent me a few new prototype, so I was very eager to put them to the test. I only use pink and chartreuse trolling flies today and it seems only the chartreuse was getting bit. Even so we managed to land one 15 1/4-inch kokanee and one Trout of the same size. Sadly, only 2 bites for the day and 2 fish to take home. 2 fish is better than 1 so I cannot complain. Illumi-knotty Tackle trolling flies did not disappoint.
