Sola Hymnal - Lord Lead me on (Trio)

LORD LEAD ME ON Author: Marion Wesley Easterling (1910-1989) Scripture Reference: Psalms 25:5 Marion W. Easterling was born in Alabama, USA. He was a talented musician and composed over 300 gospel songs, His most famous songs were " When He reached down His hand for me" and "Lord lead me on." Through his song, he would communicate to the world about his personal life. He wrote " Once my soul was astray from the heavenly way. I was wretched and blind as could be. My heart is sad, my soul is weary, the clouds are dark, the day is deary." communicating his struggles and desire for the light. He was known as " The little man with million friends" but he has a different experience in his private life as he wrote " There is no earthly friend to guide me, Oh! friends forsake me all along." But the joy and peace of conversion amidst his troubled life can be detected from his hymns as he wrote "But Christ the saviour stands beside me. But my Saviour in love gave me peace from above when he reached down His hand for me." His full hope and assurance in God are seen in his lyrics " Hold to my hand dear Lord I pray, Lord lead me on from day today."
