The BTS/ICE Specification for Tunnelling 4th edition : Collaborating for sustainability

Speaker : Christoph Eberle - Technical Principal, Mott MacDonald/ Chair of BTS Technical Sub-Committee The Technical sub committee of the BTS has collaborated with the tunnelling industry and the supply chain to review and update the BTS/ICE Specification for Tunnelling, aiming for publication of a fourth edition in 2023. A key concern was the consideration of the ever increasing role sustainability plays in our business. In this talk, Christoph Eberle contextualises the current role of the specification for the tunnel industry and give examples of how sustainability has been considered in updated clauses, and presents a timeline for the completion of the new specification as well as opportunities to engage in its peer review.
