I Didn't Know Córdoba Was the Most ADVANCED City in Medieval Europe | Spain Diaries

I went to Cordoba expecting a quick stop before Seville. I left having barely scratched the surface. By the 10th century this was one of the most advanced cities in medieval Europe with paved streets, running water, public baths, things most of the continent wouldn't see for centuries. Then it fell apart, got rebuilt, changed hands a few more times, and somehow most of that history is still standing.
