Prophet Idris (ENOCH) : The Prophet we know NOTHING about. | Prophet Series Episode 2 | Documentary

Idris is named in the Quran, but how much do we really know about his life? This documentary separates what the Quran and hadith say from the many stories told about him. The Quran mentions Idris in four verses, calling him truthful, patient and righteous, and saying Allah raised him to a high place. In an authentic hadith about the Prophet Muhammad’s journey through the heavens, Idris greets him in the fourth heaven. Beyond that, questions remain, including where Idris belongs in the old family trees and what it means that he was raised high. Then come the stories: a journey from Babylon to Egypt, writing with a pen, sewing clothes, encounters with the angel of death, and even the pyramids. The video traces where these accounts appear and explains why a memorable story is not necessarily a confirmed one. It also looks at the common identification of Idris with Enoch and the different views on whether Idris died or was taken up alive. You’ll get a clear distinction between the Quran, authentic hadith and later legends, along with the qualities the Quran chose to tell us about Idris. 00:00 Introducing Idris and the stories about him 01:06 What the Quran says 02:50 Idris in the fourth heaven 05:04 Family trees and the greeting of “brother” 06:07 Was Idris before Noah? 08:02 Where the later stories begin 08:50 The journey to Egypt 10:11 Writing, clothes and the stars 11:47 Two stories about Idris and the angel of death 14:31 What does “raised to a high place” mean? 15:39 Hermes, pyramids and the Book of Enoch 17:16 Why the legends grew
