Beneath The Bark | A Film on Woodturning | Alex Olson

This film documents the entire creative process of woodturning; finding materials, transporting wood, and turning it. It also demonstrates the versatility and power of the American Beauty lathe as a tool and instrument of creation. This film is the final installment of my Kickstarter campaign "Beneath the Bark" from July, 2016. The goal of the project was to expand my skills as a woodworker and artist; to share my wooden vessels widely; and to capture the turning process, “tree-to-bowl”, through film.
