Adding Beef Cattle to Our Farm | A New Chapter Begins

Welcome to the very beginning of our cattle journey 🤍🐄 In this video, our family heads out to the foothills of California to meet a local cattleman and choose our very first two beef heifers—the future foundation of our herd. With kids in tow and not a ton of experience (but a lot of excitement), we step into the pasture hoping to find the right girls… and maybe trying to look like we know what we’re doing. 😅 With the help of an incredibly knowledgeable and kind cattleman, we learned what to look for—from confirmation and body condition to temperament—and got to spend time with his beautiful Angus herd. Somewhere along the way, two special heifers made it pretty clear they had already chosen us. Just a day later, we welcomed them home and watched them settle into their new pasture like they’d been there all along.
