Great Beyond

[[INTRO — LOW MALE CHOIR, DEEP REVERB] In the beginning… You spoke… And darkness trembled at Your voice. [Whispered voices, left/right echo] You are my refuge… You are my fortress… You are my shield… [DEEP BASS HIT] When I look up slow And see the sky awake Your fingers left their marks On every breath I take The moon hangs in its place Like a lantern in the dark And even my small name Feels written on Your heart [PRE-CHORUS — BUILDING] If the hills can hold Your praise Then I will lift my voice If the oceans bow before You Then I will stand and trust When fear comes like a river You are stronger than the storm When darkness comes against me I know where I belong [CHORUS — HUGE CHOIR] Then my soul will sing My God, how great You are! My soul will sing How great You are! No weapon formed against me Will ever have the final word My God will fight my battles My God will be my shield Then my soul will sing My God, how great You are! How great You are! How great You are! [VERSE 2 — DRUMS ENTER, DARKER] I saw the rain come down And heard the thunder roll Still mercy met the ground And kept me safe and whole When enemies surround me I will not be afraid For You are my defender And You will make a way From the first light in the east To the last shade of night You never let me go You never leave my side Though I walk through the valley I know You walk with me Your rod and staff will guide me Your presence covers me [PRE-CHORUS — BIGGER] If the hills can hold Your praise Then let the mountains shake If the oceans bow before You Then every chain must break I will not fight for vengeance For vengeance is Yours alone I will stand beneath Your armor And make Your presence known [CHORUS — FULL BAND + CHOIR] Then my soul will sing My God, how great You are! My soul will sing How great You are! No weapon formed against me Will ever have the final word My God will fight my battles My God will be my shield Though armies rise against me My heart will not be afraid The Lord is my fortress The Lord will make a way! [BREAKDOWN — MUSIC DROPS TO LOW DRONE] [WHISPERED MALE VOICES] Vengeance belongs to You… Justice belongs to You… The battle belongs to You… [DEEP VOICE — ECHO] “The Lord will fight for you.” [CHOIR — DISTANT] He will fight for you… He will fight for you… [LOW VOICE] When I cannot fight You fight for me. When I cannot see You go before me. When I am surrounded You become my fortress. When darkness calls my name Your light answers louder. [BRIDGE — EXPLOSIVE BUILD] You made the wide blue sky You know my buried ache You count the stars above And every tear I make So I will lift my eyes And I will stand in awe The works of all Your hands Still lead me back to love You are my shield! You are my fortress! You are my refuge! You are my God! [CHOIR — CALL AND RESPONSE] Who can stand against You? NO ONE! Who can stand against Your power? NO ONE! Who can overcome Your people? NO ONE! Who will have the final word? MY GOD! [FINAL CHORUS — MASSIVE CHOIR / ORCHESTRA] Then my soul will sing My God, how great You are! My soul will sing How great You are! The battle belongs to You! The victory belongs to You! The vengeance belongs to You! The glory belongs to You! No weapon formed against me Will ever have the final word! My God is my defender! My God is my fortress! My God is my salvation! HOW GREAT YOU ARE! HOW GREAT YOU ARE! HOW GREAT YOU ARE! [OUTRO — EVERYTHING CUTS] [ONE LOW VOICE, MASSIVE REVERB] You are my refuge. [DISTANT CHOIR] My refuge… My fortress… My defender… My God… [FINAL WHISPER] And my soul… will sing. [LONG REVERB TAIL]
