Reculver Towers and St Mary’s Church – A Silent Photography Walk Through 2,000 Years of History Join us at Reculver on the Kent coast for a quiet photography walk around one of the most fascinating historic sites in the area. With no narration during the walk, we let the photographs and the landscape tell the story as we explore Reculver Towers and the remains of St Mary’s Church. This remarkable site has a history stretching back almost 2,000 years. The Romans established a fort here known as Regulbium, guarding the important Wantsum Channel. Centuries later, an Anglo-Saxon monastery was established on the site, followed by the medieval church whose impressive twin towers still dominate the coastline today.
