Back to 1988: Contra on the NES | Retro Gaming & Synthwave Vibes from the 80s

⭐ Subscribe for more retro memories:    / @retro_tape_music   It’s 1988. Contra is on the screen, the room is glowing, and you’re definitely not going to bed yet. There was something different about gaming nights like this. A CRT television humming in the corner, cartridges scattered around the room, a bowl of popcorn within reach, posters covering the walls — and that feeling that one more attempt might finally be the run. Contra became one of the defining run-and-gun games of its era. Originally released by Konami as an arcade game in 1987, its NES/Famicom versions helped turn it into a home-console classic, remembered for fast action, co-op play and legendary difficulty. This Retro Tape session brings that atmosphere back with Synthwave, Retrowave, Chillwave and nostalgic 80s electronic music, built for working, coding, studying, gaming or simply escaping into another era for a while. Put on your headphones, leave the modern world outside and imagine it’s 1988 again. 🎮 Did you actually beat Contra back then — or did Contra beat you? If these old gaming nights feel familiar, leave a like, subscribe and tell me which retro game should appear on the CRT next. 📼 00:00:00 - Ghosts Behind the Screen 00:05:09 - Neon Horizon 00:08:13 - Retro Guitar Glow 00:10:58 - The Neon Still Burns 00:15:56 - Calm Processing State 00:21:12 - VHS Memories 2 00:23:59 - Laser Heartbeat 00:28:14 - Tank Battalion Remix 00:31:23 - After Midnight Press Start 00:36:11 - Neon Shadows ’84 00:38:45 - Creative Circuit Flow 00:44:33 - Neon Pulse Guitar 00:48:08 - Outrun Lights 00:52:08 - Digital Skyline 00:54:57 - Outrun Pumpkin Highway 00:58:26 - Midnight Chill Rock 01:01:03 - Retro Game Synthwave 01:03:26 - Lost VHS Tape 01:07:46 - Studio Flow State 01:12:53 - Night Shift Neon 01:17:12 - Arcade Rock Dreams 01:20:06 - Analog Fantasy 01:23:22 - Coding Under Neon 01:26:46 - Arcade Rockwave 01:29:33 - Synthwave Horizon 01:31:58 - Neon Witch Horizon 01:34:40 - Neon Guitar Flow 01:37:10 - Retro Guitar Dreams 01:40:12 - Chiptune Tank Vibes 01:42:31 - Retro Rock Beats 01:46:05 - Astral Arcade 01:50:00 - Chillwave for IT 01:53:45 - Retro Skyline 01:57:15 - Retrowave Work Pulse 02:03:20 - Retro Flow Beats 02:06:57 - Midnight Code Rhythm 02:11:52 - Neon Workspace Drift 02:17:20 - Dreamwave Rider 02:20:49 - Downtempo Code Mode 02:24:44 - Neon Arcade Drive 02:27:39 - Synthwave Glow 02:31:11 - Chillwave Terminal 02:34:37 - Vapor Work Horizon 02:39:27 - Side-By-Side Pixels 02:42:59 - Retro Rock Nights 02:45:28 - Memory Cassette 02:49:02 - Insert Coin for Love 02:54:21 - After Hours Workwave 02:59:23 - Ambient Work Horizon 🎵 Listen Everywhere: 🟢 Spotify → https://www.open.spotify.com/artist/2... 🟠 Apple Music → https://www.music.apple.com/us/artist... 🔴 YouTube Music → https://www.music.youtube.com/channel... ☕ Support Retro Tape https://buymeacoffee.com/retrotape https://x.com/retro_tape #RetroTape #Synthwave #Retrowave #Chillwave #RetroRoom #TeenageRoom #ArcadeRoom #80sNostalgia #90sNostalgia #RetroGaming #VHSVibes #NeonNostalgia #RetroFuture #MovieNight #GamingRoom #LateNightVibes #AfterSchool #CRTVibes #RetroAesthetic #SynthwaveMusic retro tape, retro room, teenage room, arcade room, synthwave, retrowave, chillwave, vaporwave, retro aesthetic, 80s nostalgia, 90s nostalgia, vintage vibes, VHS memories, VHS nostalgia, cassette tapes, CRT TV, retro gaming, arcade games, classic games, old school gaming, retro cartoons, 80s cartoons, 90s cartoons, classic movies, VHS movie nights, childhood memories, neon lights, retro culture, nostalgic room, gaming room, synthwave music, retro music, retro lifestyle, nostalgia trip, back in time
