Pastel facades, a grand old-town square and peaceful paths beside the water — České Budějovice is a city worth slowing down for. This sunny 4K walking tour ends with a short visit to a food festival inside a historic monastery.
Join WalkYou in České Budějovice, also known as Budweis, in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. Starting at the railway station, we follow Lannova třída into the historic center, explore the streets around St. Nicholas Cathedral and the Black Tower, and wander through colorful lanes and shaded arcades.
At Přemysl Otakar II Square, Samson Fountain and the blue-and-white Baroque Town Hall take center stage. We also step through the town hall passage and courtyard before heading toward the Malše riverside, the Iron Maiden Tower and the red footbridge to Sokolský Island.
The route continues along leafy waterside paths and through a lively weekend scene on the island, then returns to the old town via the Rabenštejn Tower and Piarist Square.
Stay for the final few minutes: the walk finishes at the Dominican Monastery, followed by a bonus visit to Jíme Jih v klášteře. Food stalls, Gothic cloisters and the monastery garden give this city walk a very different ending.
Whether you are planning a trip to South Bohemia, enjoy historic architecture or simply want an unhurried virtual escape, come along and experience the city at walking pace.
