Peggy Scott Laborde highlights beloved people & places from New Orleans’ past.
Take a visual tour of local history through rare photographs & footage. Includes lost buildings such as the St. Charles Hotel & Southern Railway Terminal and some of the historic but now discontinued streetcar lines. The documentary also looks back at the literary scene in the 1920s, plus vignettes on Lafcadio Hearn, Mark Twain, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini & Louis Armstrong, along with a night out in New Orleans 1969 & 1974, when Metairie's Fat City entertainment district was in its prime.
Also remembered are the K&B drugstores that once dotted neighborhoods and memories of Christmas in the 1950s and 60s, especially of Mr. Bingle.
Produced by Peggy Scott Laborde, the program is edited by Michael Kailer, Larry Roussarie and D.J. Ducorbier.
