【東方】Strawberry Crisis!! ~ Touhou 3 | Piano Cover

Yumemi Okazaki's theme from Phantasmagoria of Dimensional Dream! My first pc98 arrangement! I tried to give this one a more retro feel, which is why I used minimal and rapid fire sustain. The notes feel more bouncy and punchy like this like the 16bit original. This track is built on one riff, but it's quite fun to listen to! It's all about energy, and keeping that energy going. Definitely one of the best early Touhou songs. I also really like Yumemi. In a world of crazy powerful youkai, gods, oni, etc, the most difficult boss is a normal 18 year old human. And fun fact: she's a got a PhD too...and shares her surname with a real Japanese footballer, I've recently found out. It's a shame she hasn't made any appearances since 1997... As for the arrangement...it's really difficult haha. You may have to omit certain bits to lower the difficulty, unless you're up for the challenge of course. At least the left hand is quite simple. The melody is very reminiscent of Liszt's Paganini Etude no. 4 1838 version with the chord spam, only easier. Liszt was insane lmao The middle section reminds me of El Contrabandista—also by Liszt—due to the quick repeated notes. Anyway, please enjoy!
