[Intro — driving riff]
Raise up the ale and clear the floor,
We’ve one worth drinking loudly for!
A battered helm, a wicked grin—
And gods help those who crowded in!
[Verse I]
He needed neither shield nor space,
He’d meet the bastards face to face.
With spikes on shoulder, knee and head,
He pulled them close—and left them dead.
He charged where wiser hearts withdrew,
And laughed when twenty became two.
No polished plate, no noble shine,
Just dents and blood and battle grime.
[Pre-Chorus]
When axes rang and shields gave way,
There wasn’t much he had to say.
One voice could call above the ring—
And one reply shook everything:
[Chorus]
Break their line and clear the way!
Another fight, another day!
Through shattered shield and clashing steel,
Give the enemy something to feel!
No gold to earn, no crown to bring,
Just point him where the axes swing—
MEEEEEE KIIIIING!
[Verse II]
He gathered those of kindred mind,
The sort good sense had left behind.
He taught them how to crash the line—
With sharpened steel and poor design.
And bathing? Well, some tales insist
There were some fights he’d rather risk.
But when the tunnels filled with cries,
The laughter vanished from his eyes.
[Pre-Chorus]
No promise bought his loyalty,
No royal order bent his knee.
Where’er that battered helm was seen,
He’d charge through hell to stand between.
[Chorus]
Break their line and clear the way!
Another fight, another day!
Through shattered shield and clashing steel,
Give the enemy something to feel!
No gold to earn, no crown to bring,
Just point him where the axes swing—
MEEEEEE KIIIIING!
[Verse III — heavier]
They said his king had breathed his last,
And grief struck deeper than an axe.
Another wore the crown that day—
But one old heart would not give way.
And when at last the ancient halls
Awoke beneath forgotten walls,
Through devil’s fire and battle’s roar,
He found the one he’d followed for.
[Bridge — music strips back]
No order called him to that fight.
No oath was needed to do what’s right.
He saw his king against the flame—
And willingly he came.
No songs of glory filled his head.
No dreams of monuments ahead.
If death stood waiting in that ring—
He’d still have answered:
“Me king.”
[Build — voices gather]
So raise the cups for battered steel,
For loyalty no crown could seal.
Raise them high for kin and hall,
For one who gladly gave his all.
And if these stones could speak again—
Tell me, brothers…
Who was he then?
[ONE BEAT OF SILENCE]
THE PWENT!
[FULL BAND — MAIN RIFF]
[Final Chorus]
BREAK THEIR LINE AND CLEAR THE WAY!
LET THE OLD HALLS RING TODAY!
THROUGH SHATTERED SHIELD AND CLASHING STEEL,
REMEMBER HOW HE MADE THEM FEEL!
No gold he sought, no crown to bring,
Just point him where the axes swing—
MEEEEEE KIIIIING!
