Scenario: Jack has frozen Pitch Black alive in a fit of rage; not realizing the severity of his actions until it's to late. Elsa, Pitch's lover and Jacks crush/friend, goes into a deep depression; seemingly unable to go on without Pitch. Jack tries explaining that he didn't mean for it to happen. But Elsa will hear none of his explanations as she begs him to leave before she does something she might regret. Jack turns away and heads back to the guardians to explain the news, leaving Elsa distraught. Jack broods about his decision to freeze Pitch. North tries to tell him that while the decision was hard, it was for the best. Considering the world will be safe from the boogeyman. But Jack just can't get over the guilt he's inflicted on the women he loves. He dreams one night about how he wishes they could be together, in their own perfect paradise. In love and happy. Jack returns to where it all started to find Elsa still weeping for his loss, even after some time has passed. He gently offers her a sincere apology and wishes he could go back to stop what he did. Elsa doesn't push him away this time, even accepting his embrace, lost in her sadness. He tells her that he loves her, regardless of her feelings for Pitch and that he will do whatever it takes to right his wrongs. Elsa then thinks back to when she was frightened of how she felt for Pitch. How she always tried to push him away, afraid of what might happen if someone got to close. Then something strike her, nothing horrible happened. Everything that conspired between her and Pitch, and even her and Jack, was something special. She remembers back when she gave into her feelings and started a beautiful thing between her and Pitch. As Jack begs for her to forgive him, saying he would do anything to make her happy, everything comes together like the pieces of a puzzle in her head. Love is what she and Pitch felt for each other. Love is what Jack feels for her. Elsa realizes that even now after Jack froze Pitch, she still loves him enough to forgive. Then she thinks of the moment she told Pitch "I love you." Repeating it to herself. She comes to a revelation and uses love to unfreeze Pitch.
