I have a BSc Degree in Civil Engineering. And there's just one small problem... I'm not sure I want to spend the rest of my life doing practical civil engineering. So instead of pretending I have everything figured out, I'm trying something completely different: YouTube. But can someone with an engineering degree and no creative talent actually build a career as a YouTuber without making engineering content? That's what I'm trying to figure out. This isn't a “quit your job and follow your dreams” type motivational video, as I wouldn’t know I was fired from my first job. I don't know if YouTube will work for me. I don't know if I'll ever make a living from it. I'm basically running an experiment. Can the skills I learned as an engineer, research, problem solving, analysis and figuring out complicated things, actually help me become a better creator? And if YouTube doesn't work, well, at least I still have the engineering degree. Probably. Maybe. Anyway, welcome to the experiment. Chapters 00:00 - I Have a Civil Engineering Degree...
