Your landlord policy was written for one family. You rent to five unrelated people. In this video, we give real estate investors a starting point before they shop for co-living insurance: why standard landlord policies often do not fit a rent-by-the-room house, what can happen when the policy does not match the property, the vocabulary you need, the coverage to ask about, where to look, and how to check every answer for yourself.
This is what we know as of late 2026. The co-living insurance market is changing fast, and products, rules, and availability may change. Not every product or plan mentioned is available in every state. Always speak with an agent licensed in your state.
