Elementary House Sorting Day, August 28, 2026

It's been a raucous, exhilarating day for students and staff at MRH Elementary School. Today, they all learned which "house" they'll belong to for the 26-27 school year. The “house” model is a dynamic and exciting way to reinforce a positive school culture for students and staff alike. It works like this: students and teachers are grouped into one of four houses. Each house comprises individuals who otherwise would not normally interact with one another as they do in their grade-level cohorts. The result, says MRHE Principal Carlisha Elam, is a stronger sense of belonging and a tighter connection to the school’s expectations such as empathy, mindfulness, integrity and resilience.
