This stunning alpine lake is fed by melting snow and glacial streams from the surrounding mountains. With its deep blue waters and peaceful atmosphere, Sadpara is not only a popular tourist attraction but also an essential water reservoir for the region. The reflections of surrounding peaks on the lake’s surface create a picture-perfect view. 🌿 Deosai National Park – The Land of Giants After Sadpara, we officially enter the Deosai National Park, also known as the “Land of Giants.” Sitting at an average elevation of over 13,000 feet (4,114 meters), Deosai is one of the highest plateaus in the world. The park is a protected habitat for endangered species like the Himalayan brown bear, golden marmots, and snow leopards. Covered in wildflowers during the summer and surrounded by snow-capped peaks, Deosai offers a surreal experience that feels almost otherworldly. 🥘 Lunch at Bara Pani Next, we reach Bara Pani, a scenic camping site and resting area inside the park. The name “Bara Pani” (meaning “big water”) refers to the wide, glacier-fed river flowing through the plains. We stopped here to enjoy lunch right beside the river, surrounded by endless green fields, crystal-clear water, and a cool mountain breeze — a moment of pure peace in nature. 🏔️ Sheosar Lake – Jewel of Deosai Our final destination is the breathtaking Sheosar Lake, located deep inside Deosai National Park. At an elevation of 4,142 meters (13,589 ft), Sheosar is one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. Its calm, deep blue waters are surrounded by lush meadows and, on clear days, you can even spot Nanga Parbat towering in the distance.
