Beaton novel of the same name. In this installment of the popular cozy mystery series, the perpetually exasperated but determined amateur sleuth, Agatha Raisin, finds herself embroiled in a murder case linked to a village treasure hunt. The story kicks off with Agatha trying to give up smoking, which, ironically, leads her into the midst of this quirky treasure hunt. However, the fun quickly turns sinister when the prize at the end of the hunt turns out to be a rather nasty murder. Agatha, a former PR professional who retired to the seemingly quiet Cotswolds', is once again compelled to use her sharp wit and often unconventional methods to uncover the killer, navigating a world of village eccentrics and hidden secrets. As always, her complicated relationship with her handsome neighbor, James Lacey, adds another layer of intrigue and personal drama to the mystery.
