Kim Ji-won’s Doctor X Hits a RECORD—Why Is Its Medicine Under Fire?

Kim Ji-won’s medical noir drama Doctor X reached a new viewership high with its third episode on October 16. Nielsen Korea reported an average nationwide rating of 15.1%, making the episode the most-watched program of any kind that Friday. The milestone puts the drama’s rising audience in sharp contrast with the backlash it has faced over medical inaccuracies. Kim Ji-won plays Gye Soo Jung, a genius surgeon whose skill challenges a corruption-ridden medical establishment. Based on the hit Japanese series of the same name, Doctor X brings a medical-noir premise to SBS—and the debate around its depiction of medicine is now part of the conversation as its ratings climb. #KimJiWon #DoctorX #DoctorXKdrama #GyeSooJung #SBS #KDrama #KoreanDrama #MedicalNoir #MedicalDrama #NielsenKorea #KDramaRatings #KoreanActors #DoctorXRatings
