Some of the most popular study methods feel incredibly productive — but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re helping you learn. In this video, I’m ranking 10 popular study methods from worst to best based on what research on learning and memory supports, how well they help you retain and actually use information, and how much learning you get for the time you put in. We’ll look at everything from passive study strategies to active learning techniques, including some methods I think are overrated, some that become much better when you modify them, and the strategies I would build most of my own studying around.
