A heavy rain warning came through in the afternoon, and we were told to go home early.
It had barely started raining yet, so I stopped at the supermarket on the way and picked up what
I needed for gyoza — pan-fried dumplings. Garlic chives, a Japanese leek, a cabbage, ground pork,
and two packs of wrappers.
Fifty wrappers. Forty-eight gyoza. Ten for that night, and the rest went into the freezer.
I don't make them from scratch often anymore. Lately it's been the store-bought ones, which are
easy and honestly taste fine. But I had an evening I wasn't expecting, and I have my own freezer
now.
The rain came down properly by four. I didn't go out again.

This was filmed before I brought the plant home, so it isn't by the window yet.
I'm Kira, 48. I live alone in Aichi, near Nagoya, after moving out of my parents' home in Gifu.
Thank you for watching.
