Paint With Me: Early Autumn in Normandy | Acrylic Landscape Step-by-Step Tutorial

In this step-by-step acrylic painting video, I’m painting “Early Autumn in Normandy,” inspired by photographs I took while hiking in Sahurs in Normandy, France. The scene captures that moment when summer is beginning to disappear but autumn hasn’t completely taken over yet: green fields remain vivid while the trees start turning yellow, orange and red. A muddy country road after the rain leads toward a traditional half-timbered Norman house, with puddles reflecting the sky and an old utility pole cutting through the landscape. I wanted to keep some of the ordinary details of the real place rather than turn it into an idealized countryside scene. The wet road, fences, pole and changing foliage are all part of what made me want to paint it. Follow along as I build the landscape from the sky and distant trees to the house, autumn foliage, foreground, muddy road, puddles and final details.
