For everyone asking about the choice of Shrubbs for the bb$quad: it was a very deliberate decision based on music theory and the limitations of MSM Composer. In the original version of “two” (and bbli$zard Island), the vocals aren’t traditionally sung. They’re delivered in a monotone, spoken-word style, meaning they don’t follow a defined melody or move between specific musical notes. The problem is that most vocal monsters in MSM Composer are designed to sing specific notes. Using one of them would mean forcing a melody onto vocals that were never meant to have one. Shrubb and Rare Shrubb are the exceptions, as their sounds function more like rhythmic percussion than traditional singing. This makes Shrubb a much better fit for recreating the original vocals. Its percussive sound allows me to preserve the dry, rhythmic delivery characteristic of hip-hop without introducing unnecessary melody or changing the original feel of the track.
