Happy September 19th! Decided it was an occasion to push Farbanti into the dirt for the upteenth time. After all, it's Sky Eye's favorite present. Some commentary, though. The S-37A/Su-47 is one of my favorite real aircraft designs represented in the franchise. I very much like agile bombing, especially when it can happen with a big AoE. Being able to switch off to QAAMs covers hairy dogfights as an anti-air option pretty well, too. I also like using the aircraft in the other games of the franchise. Wasn't expecting the last two Yellows to be so absolutely stubborn, but I luckily developed an outward spiral technique while playing AC0 against Schwarze Squadron. Essentially, it is a safe getaway performed by continuously and moderately turning horizontally using full throttle to gradually make distance from an enemy that is continuously turning and firing on you; if you don't have the mobility advantage (and/or safety to leverage it effectively), but can outspeed the opponent, you can exit the lock-on range and be able to re-engage on your terms. One note about this for AC0, though... it will NOT work on the ultimate foe of the Gauntlet, which was cool yet frightening to learn. The enemy missiles were acting like QAAMs on my radar, so I caught on rather fast that I was in a dangerous situation and wasn't going to win a turn battle at close range anyway; I calculated that I needed to escape and reset the fight eventually. I don't play this mission and fight the Yellows very often, to be frank, so perhaps I could be better.
