New York State Turn-On's 22

Traffic signal activations at various locations on New York State roadways on Long Island. 1. Veterans Memorial Highway (NYS Route 454) & Harned Road (Commack, NY). This was a take-down turn-on operation. The existing strain poles and pedestrian signals remained. The traffic signal heads, span wires and control cabinet were replaced. 2. Front Street (NYS Route 102) & Merrick Avenue (East Meadow, NY). The traffic signal at this intersection was fully rebuilt. Newly upgraded signals on a pair of 55' mast arm poles. 3. Route 231 & Ellsworth Avenue & Deer Parl Avenue & Strathmore Drive (North Babylon, NY). There are two sets of traffic signals that are controlled by one controller at this location. One set of signals are at Route 231 & Ellsworth Avenue and another set of traffic signals at Deer Park Avenue & Strathmore Avenue. The traffic signals at both intersections were fully rebuilt. The set of signals @ Route 231 & Ellsworth are on a span wire in between a pair of strain poles. The set of signals @ Deer Park & Strathmore are on a pair of mast arm poles. The 2 signal heads facing Deer Park are on a 40' mast arm pole and the rest of the signal heads are on a 55' mast arm pole. Note: This intersection splits both Deer Park Avenue and Route 231. 4. Hauppauge Road (NYS Route 111) & Townline Road (NYS Route 111 West side of the intersection / County Road 76 East side of the intersection. Hauppauge, NY). The traffic signal at this intersection was fully rebuilt. Newly upgraded signals on a span wire in between a pair of strain poles. Note: Route 111 continues from one side of the intersection to another side of the intersection. *Note: All new signal heads that are twisted in these videos have been repaired shortly after the turn-on operations.
