This is a test of X's Storm Tornado and Zero's newly designed weapon, Lethal Slasher, against Flame Mammoth.
Storm Tornado can continue dealing damage during the invincibility frames under the current combat system of this project. Although the damage is reduced during i-frames, it can still deal significantly more damage than most other weapons. The charged version has also been enhanced beyond the original game, with the goal of giving players more reasons to actively use the charge version.
Zero's Lethal Slasher is a newly designed special normal weapon in this project. It allows Zero to perform rapid, wide-range attacks even while moving, although its damage is lower than the regular Z-Saber.
Pressing the Special Attack button activates its ultimate technique, Reppujin (烈風刃) — a four-slash Lethal Slasher attack infused with wind energy.
I imagine some experienced players are already thinking: "Wait... isn't this a little too similar to something involving a certain castle... and vampires...?"
Oh...I have no idea what you're talking about, I only can say this inspiration is definitely Strider Hiryu.(pretends nothing happened)
Lethal Slasher is still being adjusted, but aside from numerical balancing, I don't expect its animation or core mechanics to change much from this point.
Zero also has another special normal weapon planned: Pulse Chain. It will serve as Zero's counterpart to X's Boomerang Cutter. Once the Boomerang Cutter is ready to cut Flame Mammoth's nose, I'll immediately start working on Pulse Chain.
As for Flame Mammoth, I'm still working on the nose-cutting mechanic, AI adjustments, and a few small bugs. Please be patient while I continue polishing the fight.
And I know some people may be wondering: "What about Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass? Where are their updates?"
Well... they already have their own wind-element special weapons.
The problem is... I still can't beat Flame Mammoth with them.
So yeah, they need some more adjustments too.(runs away
