Hiking the Mestia to Ushguli Trek | Silent ASMR Adventure 🌄 In June 2024, I completed the Mestia to Ushguli Trek in Georgia over 4 days, hiking solo through the stunning Caucasus Mountains and the picturesque Tsvirmi Village. I flew from Abu Dhabi, UAE, to Kutaisi, Georgia, where I spent the night in the city center (200m / 656ft). The next morning, I took a minibus to Mestia (1,500m / 4,921ft), but the journey was extended due to multiple breakdowns, turning a 6-hour trip into an all-day adventure. After a day in Mestia, I began the trek, staying overnight in a guesthouse in Tsvirmi Village (1,870m / 6,135ft). The trail initially followed some uninspiring roads with steep elevation gain, but there’s an alternative: the Mestia cable car, which whisks you from 1,700m to 2,348m, bypassing the tougher sections. I chose to hike instead! On Day 2, I reached a perfect camping spot (2,474m / 8,116ft), where I experienced a dramatic rainy night. On Day 3, I camped near the Adishi Glacier foothill (2,279m / 7,477ft) after crossing some incredible terrain. The next morning brought one of the trek’s most dangerous challenges: a glacier river crossing. Attempting this solo in spring was risky—I highly recommend waiting for villagers to assist on horseback! I continued over Chkhutnieri Pass (2,756m / 9,041ft), marveling at the glacier views, before arriving in Ushguli Village (2,200m / 7,217ft).
