When winter arrived their branches became nothing more than dry, tangled tendrils clinging to the cracked bark, as if in ascetic silence, they whispered their secret to the earth. This piece was born in 2013- at a time when after my migration, my heart ached with longing for my homeland. In that wistful yearning, on a cold winter night, I found myself remembering those very vines whose golden, sweet essence dripped into crystal bowls of snow in the heart of winter, mingling with our childhood language in the crisp, snowy air. This piece is a testament to the majesty of resilience and transformation. For even in the barren stillness of winter, a withered vine holds, deep within, the promise of a verdant spring and the nectar of sweetness yet to come. And so, with dignity, I remained a wanderer.
