Our Xinjiang adventure comes to an end in Urumqi (Ürümqi)! After an unforgettable journey along the legendary Duku Highway, we finally arrive in Xinjiang's capital to explore two of its most famous attractions. First, we visit Hetian 2nd Street (和田二街), one of Urumqi's most popular night markets. Experience the lively atmosphere, browse countless stalls selling local specialties, dried fruits, raisins, dates, souvenirs, and see why this market has become a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. The next morning, we head to the iconic Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar (新疆国际大巴扎). We explore the famous Naan Museum, watch traditional naan being freshly baked, shop for authentic Xinjiang specialties, try the famous Xinjiang Qiegao (切糕), and enjoy the vibrant bazaar atmosphere. Of course, no visit to the Grand Bazaar is complete without meeting the internet-famous Xiao Yang Ge (小羊哥), the handsome sheep doll seller who has become one of Xinjiang's biggest tourism icons!
