Nobody truly prepares you for all the changes that come after losing a husband. Widowhood is not only about grief—it can mean making decisions alone, praying alone, attending occasions without your spouse, guiding adult children, dealing with family challenges, protecting your health and learning responsibilities your husband once handled. In this personal conversation, I share some of the unexpected realities widowhood introduced into my life, the lessons I have learned, and why a widow can still live, grow, trust God and move forward without forgetting the husband she loved. I also share an important warning another widow gave me shortly after my husband passed away: don't allow grief to negatively affect your health.
