The larger model was finalized after testing roughly 50 configurations across an estimated three years of cumulative Nvidia H100 compute time, yet it runs at essentially the same speed as its predecessor, DeepPRIME XD2s, on consumer hardware. 🔹 DeepPRIME 3 vs. DeepPRIME XD3 — DeepPRIME 3 is the dependable everyday engine: fast, natural, and ideal for well-exposed, moderate-ISO files and large batches. DeepPRIME XD3 is the "emergency room" engine — reserved for the highest-ISO, most demanding, or heavily pushed images where maximum detail recovery and noise suppression justify the added processing time. 🔹 ISO Thresholds and Decision Rules — I walk through DxO's practical ISO crossover points, from base ISO (where XD3 mainly helps with chromatic aberration and demosaicing) through ISO 3200-12800 (where the quality gap becomes clearly visible) up to extreme ISO 25600+, where XD3 can occasionally over-interpret noise as detail and DeepPRIME 3 may render more naturally. 🔹 Hazy Boundary Artifacts and How to Fix Them — At high-contrast edges, XD3 can occasionally produce a soft "hazy boundary" zone.
