Resident Evil Requiem tries to do a lot. It wants to wrap up Leon S. Kennedy’s story that began in the RPD all the way back in Resident Evil 2, while also introducing a brand new protagonist in Grace Ashcroft. It wants to be survival horror and bombastic action. A nostalgic return to Raccoon City while also pushing the series forward. Sometimes it works beautifully. Sometimes it only works the first time you experience it. And sometimes it misses the mark entirely. In this in-depth critique I break down everything Resident Evil Requiem attempts to do, from the incredible horror of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Centre, to Leon’s explosive return to Raccoon City. We examine the game’s level design, story, characters, replayability and the ambitious ideas that make it one of the most fascinating entries in the series. Because despite its flaws, Resident Evil Requiem might also be one of the most ambitious Resident Evil games Capcom has ever made. #residentevilrequiem Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 2:43 - Grace Ashcroft 6:22 - The Horrors of Rhodes Hill 13:41 - Requiem's Replay Problem 19:04 - Leon & Raccoon City 25:23 - What Does The Creator Desire? 28:43 - One Final Letdown
