See the climb before you're on it. 3D Maps let you tilt, rotate, and zoom into any route to see the real terrain: the ridgelines, the valleys, the switchbacks a flat map just can't show you. In this demo, we use the new 3D maps to size up climbs, scout campsite spots near a scenic overlook, and explore routes in British Columbia and Mallorca across different map styles, including OSM, OSM Cycle, OSM Outdoor, and Esri Topo. It works on the web and in the mobile app. We're excited about this one because it turns planning into something you can actually feel, not just read. As our ambassador Kait Boyle put it: there's only so much a contour line can show you, and seeing her routes in 3D changes how she reads backcountry terrain.
