REX AMBASSADOR | 0 BLADE FEEL HACK | REDUCED BLADE EXPOSURE TRICK

GOOD MORNING SHAVE TEAM! A couple of my friends reached out after my last few videos and told me their REX AMBASSADOR had been SIDELINED, REVERSE TAPE SHIMMED, OR SOLD because they did not like the amount of positive blade exposure. I showcased the injector method (which I personally use) but then I got to thinking - why not do the same concept with a DE blade? This raises the question here, is it stupid if it works? hahah Not to start an all out bloodbath - war of the sharpest - battle for what blades are indeed sharper and why, but it has been commonly discussed that Feather Blades are several MMs wider than most blades. This would increase their exposure across the board and give them a more aggressive, sharper feel. SO by the same logic - I came to the conclusion removing a few MM's from the back of a DE blade (IE the teeth portion) would do the same. AND IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. Imagine taking your wildest, SHARPEST blade, and retaining the same blade longevity / efficiency while reducing its actual skin feel. That is how this performed - almost like a Blade Neutral Medium Henson. I was buffing and pressing using the highest 6.5 Setting, and it did take a full extra pass to get the same REX BBS I am accustomed too. To be honest here it felt like I had switched the headcap out to a DE89 version. My Derby Blacks felt the same in smoothness and cutting power - but had SIGNIFICANTLY less skin feel. In all, this trick WON'T, and I repeat, this WILL NOT be everyone's cup of tea - but I truly hope the concept helps those who flinch picking up the REX (or other high exposure razors). This could even be used as a training tool, slowly removing less and less exposure till you have mastered it.
