The Church of Christ Part 5 Church Order

Title: The Church of Christ Part 5 Church Order Speaker: Rev. Joel Wories Series: Belgic Confession Date: September 27, 2026 Bible: Colossians 3:1-17 This sermon examines the theological necessity of church order as a means of maintaining faithfulness and unity within the body of Christ. It argues that while human innovations and arbitrary laws must be rejected, a structured order grounded in Scripture protects the congregation from both legalism and chaotic individualism. The discussion distinguishes between the essential elements of worship, which are divinely commanded, and the circumstances of worship, where local elders exercise wisdom and freedom. By referencing the Belgic Confession and Colossians, the message emphasizes that church order is not an end in itself but a vehicle for glorifying God and sanctifying believers. The preacher urges the congregation to submit to the authority of their elders with joy, recognizing that such structure fosters harmony and allows the Word of Christ to dwell richly in the community. https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/9...
